What you need

You probably already have: bread • eggs • butter/oil • salt
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice or small handful of cheese
  • 1 tsp butter or oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • Black pepper, optional

Step 1 of 4
  1. Toast your bread first so it’s ready when the egg finishes.
  2. Heat butter or oil in a small pan on medium heat.
  3. Crack in the egg and cook until the white is set.
  4. Add cheese on top for the last 20–30 seconds so it softens or melts.
  5. Slide onto toast, add salt, and eat immediately.
