What you need

Only 3 things: oats β€’ peanut butter β€’ banana
  • 1 serving oats
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 banana

Step 1 of 4
  1. Put oats in a microwave-safe bowl with water or milk.
  2. Microwave until soft.
  3. Stir in peanut butter.
  4. Top with banana and eat warm.
Why this works: Soft, warm, and automatic. Good when chewing effort or decision effort both feel annoying.
  • Microwave oats are easier than stovetop. Use that.
  • Banana can be sliced, broken, or mashed. It does not matter.
  • Good for mornings when you need something gentle.
  • Use honey instead of banana.
  • Add cinnamon if you want more flavor.
  • Use almond butter instead of peanut butter.
  • Add berries if they are already in the fridge.
